“What is the power of one person to positively affect people in poverty?" – Bill Sullivan

My answer is…. Assist them in the healing process.  Had it not been for my life experiences (child of addiction, emotional and psychological trauma, my dad's MultiForme Glioblastoma, Severe Pre-Cancerous Cervical Lesions, a traumatic delivery with hemorrhaging, my son's traumatic birth resulting in Severe Meconium Aspiration, Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension, Kidney Failure, Tachycardia, Shoulder Dystocia, potential developmental delays, the need for an oxygen cannula, and the possibility of a brachial plexus injury, then Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, along with incredible grief from the loss of loved ones, three times in all of this) I’d still be on the ambitious path of pursuing and excelling in automotive executive management.  I’d still be profitability driven and would not have given ambition, passion, purpose and service its proper place in my life.   That truth is absolutely clear….

Assisting others in their understanding of whole health, whole person natural health and holistic medicine is my power to positively affect people in poverty.  Knowledge is power, service is key.

My personal experiences have yielded Resilience. Will. Triumph. Victory.   In that order, all have helped to define my contribution to and legacy in this world.  The experiences were the springboard for Exhalation Integrative Wellness, the natural health and healing practice and collective; that I deem my life’s work.   Quite frankly, these experiences most certainly inspire my answer to the question raised by Bill Sullivan in his Interview with Urban Innovation Exchange…. “What is the power of one person to positively affect people in poverty?”  There is clarity in knowing my power, it gives me focus and intent to achieve what I’ve been called to achieve.  My power is to assist, educate and inspire.

Exhalation Integrative Wellness and Non-Medical Musings  culminate my experience with natural health.  This work is not a trend.  It is not a fad.  This work is where we begin.   I seek to assist, educate and inspire along the healing process….…..through traditional and indigenous healing practices, activism and social justice initiatives, by convening conversations around natural health and by de-medicalizing the healthcare experience.

I hope you enjoy the posts to come!  Please feel free to post your questions or comments.  I welcome your input.
